Privacy Policy
Who we are
mineracks.ai is operated by mineracks pty ltd (ABN 54 654 312 786), Brisbane, Australia. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
This policy covers this website and our dealings with clients and enquirers. Where we process personal information inside a system we run for a client, we do that on the client's instructions, and their own privacy policy governs how that information is used.
This website
- We set no cookies and run no advertising or analytics scripts of our own.
- Your language choice is stored in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.
- This site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes technical request information such as IP address in order to serve and protect the site. Cloudflare acts as our service provider.
- The data-centre video is click-to-play. The preview image is served from our own site, and nothing is requested from YouTube unless you choose to play it. If you do, YouTube and Google receive information about that under their own terms.
What we collect
- When you contact us: your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you choose to tell us about your business.
- When you are a client: contact details for the people we work with, billing details, and records of the work and our correspondence.
- When we deliver a project: access to systems and data you ask us to work with. That may contain personal information about your staff, customers or suppliers.
We do not buy personal information from third parties, and we do not run tracking across other websites.
How we use it
To answer your enquiry, to quote for and deliver work, to operate and support the systems we run for you, to invoice, and to meet our legal and tax obligations.
We may send you occasional email about your engagement. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your business data to market to your customers.
Your business data during a project
Data inside the systems we build and operate for you remains yours. We access it to do the work you have asked for and for no other purpose.
We work read-only by default, ask for write access only where a task needs it, and scope credentials as narrowly as the job allows. We do not use one client's data to build anything for another.
AI processing: where your data actually goes
This is the section worth reading twice.
- Private models run on hardware in our own data centre in Australia, or on hardware you own. Data processed this way does not leave that infrastructure.
- Frontier models are operated by third parties, generally outside Australia. When a system we build sends a prompt to one of them, the prompt and any data attached to it is transmitted to that provider and processed under their terms. We will tell you which providers a solution uses and what is sent to them.
- Where a provider offers a setting to exclude your content from training their models, we enable it. Where a provider does not offer that, we will tell you before your data goes near it.
- You set the boundary. If certain information must never leave your systems, tell us and we will design the solution so that it does not, using private models for that part of the work.
Where data lives
Our own infrastructure is in Australia, in a data centre we designed, built and operate ourselves. Backups are held on infrastructure we control.
Some third-party services we or you rely on, including frontier model providers, store and process data overseas. Section 6 covers what that means in practice.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where it is needed to run the service or where the law requires it:
- service providers that help us operate, such as Cloudflare for site delivery and our accounting and email providers;
- AI model providers, as described in section 6, and only for solutions where you have agreed to their use;
- professional advisers, and law enforcement or regulators where we are legally required to disclose.
We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
How we protect it
Access to client systems is restricted to the people doing the work, over authenticated and encrypted connections, with credentials scoped to the task. Our infrastructure is monitored, patched and backed up, and we rehearse restoring from those backups rather than assuming they work.
No system is perfectly secure. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become engagements are kept for a reasonable period and then deleted. Client records are kept for the life of the engagement and afterwards for as long as we are required to keep them, which for financial records under Australian law is generally seven years.
Data inside systems we operate for you is retained according to what we agree with you, and returned or deleted when the engagement ends.
Your rights, and complaints
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email us and we will respond within a reasonable period.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, tell us first and we will try to put it right. If you are still not satisfied you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as our services develop, and the "last updated" date above will change when we do.
